Welcome on my sui... errm site
Hi, I'm Brandon Jones
Quite often I see men wearing the wrong suits, considering the situation. That's one of the reasons I made this (small but hopefully useful) website. I would like to provide fellow men some handy tips when to wear which kind of suit. See you at the parties, boys :) !!!
When To Wear A One-Button Suit
When shopping for the right suit, most people only consider a two or three-button suit. They are traditional, formal, and can be worn for almost any occasion. However, thanks to a recent resurgence in popularity, the once rare one-button suit has made a comeback in the fashion world. Now before you run out and jump on the one-button suit bandwagon, there are a few things you may need to consider. We will discuss who looks best in a one-button coat, what to look for in a material, and most importantly: When to wear a one-button suit.
The one-button suit is traditionally tailored for the lean or slim gentleman. Unfortunately if someone with the wrong body size or physique attempts to wear this style, it will take away any of the stylishness they were hoping to attain by wearing it in the first place. The one-button suit coat design presents the wearer looking long and slim. A person with any sort of bulk to their frame or mid-section negates this appearance and will appear unpolished. A large stomach will protrude above or below the button, and the sides of the coat will pull. Additionally, the shirt may be seen along the bottom of the jacket making it look too small or too tight. Suit sizes often tend to run small, but it does not make it ok to buy a bigger size in this style. Unfortunately the bigger gentleman should steer clear of this style.
When looking at the one-button suit, the detailing, and structure of the suit are very important. But, we should also take the fabric in consideration: you may wonder which fabric you should choose for your new men suit. The idea of the one-button blazer is to look elegant and sophisticated. A wool or silk material will best present that intention. When it comes to color, a stunning gentleman can never go wrong with a dark navy or black suit. Most suits are available in solid colors, and it would be wise to avoid most patterns. The only exception to this rule is a dark pinstripe. This will provide the wearer with a polished "executive" look. Make sure the stitching is examined for durability and potential flaws. All suits will tear with or without well-done stitching if the suit is treated improperly. However, improper stitching that is exposed may show stress if the coat is ill-fitting in any way or over long periods of wear and use.
Finally, after the big purchase is made, how do you decide when to wear a one-button suit? Many people will tell you it can be worn on any occasion. Others will say that is not the case. A one-button suit gives the "right" wearer a fabulously clean and polished look. It is very appropriate for the corporate power meetings, as well as a night out on the town. This is possible due to the modern look that is usually found with tuxedo coats, and the correctly chosen pattern. A look that has become somewhat trendy is the one-button jacket, dress shirt, and jeans. Often times the shirt is un-tucked and the coat is not buttoned. It appears somewhat "professionally casual," and could be worn in settings where the dress code is uncertain. Traditionally, when wearing a one-button coat, the button is fastened while standing, and unfastened while sitting. Due to the low break of the suit, the shirt and tie will be more visible than standard suits. Therefore is considered wise to choose your tie and shirt carefully.
Choosing when to buy, or when to wear a one-button suit is always up to the gentleman. While it may not always be the correct style for every occasion, it is safe to say that when it is worn properly, the one-button suit will not disappoint.
